''I grew up in the United States and got into cycling at a young age. What began as a challenge gradually turned into a professional career in Europe. As the years passed, my relationship with the sport evolved, and my focus shifted toward long-term, sustainable performance built around balance and consistency.''

More about Ian

Ian’s professional racing career spanned nearly two decades and included competition at the very highest level of the sport. He raced all three Grand Tours, played key roles within WorldTour teams, and earned a stage victory at the Vuelta a España. Known for his durability and intelligence as a rider, Ian built a career based on consistency, trust, and the ability to perform day after day in demanding environments.

In 2019, a serious crash resulting in a traumatic head injury brought his road racing career to an abrupt halt. The recovery process was long and uncertain, forcing a complete reset in how he approached training, health, and performance. That experience reshaped his understanding of what sustainable progress truly requires.

After stepping away from full-time professional road racing, Ian rediscovered his love for competition through gravel racing. Balancing training with a full-time job, family life, and living on a farm in northern Vermont, he returned to racing and went on to win Unbound Gravel 200, one of the most demanding one-day events in the sport.

Today, Ian brings that lived experience into coaching. His approach values structure and data, while recognising their limits. He focuses on long-term development, honest communication, and adapting training to fit the realities of life beyond the bike. His goal is to help athletes build consistency, confidence, and a lasting relationship with the sport.
