What to expect at the EF Pro Cycling Girona Camp 2026
With the EF Pro Cycling Girona Camp 2026 less than two months away, a few places remain for riders who want to spend a week riding, learning, and sharing the roads with people who work at the highest level of the sport.
From November 11 to 18, Team EF Coaching will welcome cyclists of all abilities to Girona, Spain. The camp is built around the same principles that shape a professional training week: purposeful riding, good recovery, clear communication, useful feedback, and time with a strong group of people who enjoy being on bikes. Iearn more about the Girona Camp, including the daily programme, accommodation, pricing and available options. If the camp feels right for you, you can then reserve your place through our secure booking page.
You do not need to be a racer to join. You need to love cycling and be ready for a structured, supportive week that can help you ride with more confidence, understand your training more clearly, and enjoy your time on the bike even more.
Why Girona is the right place for a cycling training camp
Girona has become one of Europe’s best-known cycling destinations for good reason. Quiet roads lead from the city into the Gavarres, through rolling countryside, and towards climbs such as Els Àngels and Rocacorba.
During camp, you will ride roads used by EF Pro Cycling athletes and visit the team’s Service Course. The riding will include steady group rides, longer days, planned efforts, and a mix of terrain suited to different types of riders.
The Camiral Golf & Wellness Hotel provides a comfortable base between rides, with space to recover and enjoy the spa, hydrotherapy pools, and grounds. The setting makes it possible to focus on cycling without making the week feel like a test of who can ride the fastest.
Learn from coaches who know the professional peloton
The camp coaches are Colby Pearce and Nathan Haas. Both bring years of experience from professional racing, but they also bring a practical understanding of what amateur riders need from a coaching experience.
Colby raced professionally for 15 years, competed at the 2004 Olympic Games, and won 14 national championships. He has coached riders since 2005 and has spent years helping athletes understand the connection between training, bike position, technique, and performance.
Nathan spent 10 years racing in the WorldTour after beginning his career in cross-country mountain biking. He raced with Garmin, Dimension Data, Katusha, and Cofidis, and has won stages at races including the Tour of Oman, Tour of Britain, and Vuelta a Burgos. His background in health sciences also shapes the way he works with riders, with a focus on performance, wellbeing, and the bigger picture.
At camp, their experience is not kept at the front of the group. They will be riding with you, watching how you move through a group, helping you understand the day’s focus, and answering the questions that are much easier to ask when you are sharing the same road.
A cycling camp for different abilities
You do not need to be at a certain level to take part. The riding is structured so that different abilities and fitness levels can train together and still get what they need from each session. As Nathan Haas explains:
“The training rides are structured so that every rider is accounted for. We work on specific skills on one day, pacing strategy on another, and use different formats throughout the week. That means different abilities do not change the outcome of the day.”
On group ride days, the group rides together at a steady, social pace. When it is time for a planned effort, riders complete the effort and regroup before continuing together. This allows each rider to reach the intended training load without losing the group feeling that makes a camp enjoyable.
That balance is important. You should be able to work hard when the session calls for it, but you should also have time to talk, learn, and enjoy the ride. The goal is not to leave riders behind. It is to give everyone a clear target for the day and the support to reach it.
Take practical lessons home
The value of a cycling camp is not only measured in kilometres. It is measured in what changes when you return to your usual roads.
Throughout the week, you will have opportunities to improve your group riding, pacing, fuelling, recovery, and preparation. Every athlete also receives a personal consultation with our nutritionist, with meals planned to support the work you are doing on the bike.
Depending on the options you choose, metabolic testing and a professional bike fit are also available. You will have the chance to share a special lunch prepared by the EF Pro Cycling team chef and see how the details of a professional training week come together.
You may leave Girona with:
More confidence riding in a group
A better understanding of pacing and effort
Practical techniques for riding efficiently
A clearer approach to fuelling longer training days
Feedback on your position, movement, and bike setup
New training ideas for the season ahead
A group of riders and coaches to stay connected with
Most of all, you will have spent a week taking training seriously without losing the enjoyment that brought you to cycling in the first place.
