After nearly 20 years racing at the highest level of the sport, our team decided it was time to share what we’ve learned with cyclists of all kinds, outside the professional ranks. We set out to develop a coaching system that was as dynamic and varied as the athletes we coach.
Years in the making, the Team EF Coaching method eschews dated standards for a dynamic, real-world training system. We have developed a dynamic power test and training plan that better prepares riders for KOMs, gran fondos, and seven-hour gravel races, focusing on power at the end of races rather than a 30-minute interval at the start. We’ve learned from our coaches and our riders for the last 20 years about the ups and downs of riding a bike, and with Team EF Coaching, we get to share what we’ve learned with you.
We are proud to be the only elite sports organization offering coaching to athletes of all kinds. Starting as a development outfit, we have grown into a progressive team that has won nearly every major event in professional cycling. We have pioneered changes to the sport in nutrition, aerodynamics, training, and anti-doping. For the first time in professional cycling, this team will share its unique knowledge and experience with cyclists outside the professional ranks.
“We see many talented young riders come into the pro ranks, with a big engine and big numbers, but if they don’t understand the nuances of cycling, they won’t succeed,” explained Vaughters.
“Team EF Coaching gives riders new metrics by which to measure their progress. Our metrics are more holistic and applicable to real cycling, not just being a number factory. We coach people from all walks of life to improve as a true cyclist.”
