EVENTS & TRAINING PLANS

Join POC x Team EF Coaching recon rides, training plans and more at selected events in the US and Sweden throughout 2023 .

POC have partnered with Team EF Coaching at selected road, gravel and MTB events in the United States and Sweden for exclusive pre-event recon rides and training plans to help you achieve your best result in the race.

POC has been partners with the EF Education teams since 2014, and as Jonathan Vaughters has said: "POC’s innovation and support have been critical in many of the team’s achievements."

We're pleased that Team EF Coaching together with POC can now share some of the knowledge, skills and support that professional athletes benefit from, with the wider cycling community at a range of exciting events throughout 2023.

Recon rides

Recon rides will be led by coaches from Team EF Coaching including head coach Colby Pearce, as well as some special guests at certain events.

Colby will give you tips on technique, strategy and nutrition while pointing out key sectors of the race course.

Recon ride numbers will be limited to give participants he best coaching experience and to ensure a safe ride. In order to join us please register before the event, on the link provided.

Training plans

The POC x Team EF Coaching training plans are delivered through our Foundations Training Plan, a dynamic training tool using the Today's Plan app to schedule a calendar of workouts which can sync to your Wahoo or Garmin head unit and you can use them indoors on platforms like Zwift or when riding outdoors. These adapt to your level of fitness and available training time, making sure you get the best workouts and results.

In order to access the Vätternrundan and SBT Gravel training plans please subscribe to the Foundations Training Plan, which is $19.95 a month with no minimum subscription.

Vätternrundan Training Plan

The Vätternrundan training plan is six weeks long and starts on the 5th of May 2023 but you can sign up to Foundations Training Plan whenever you like and get started with some great workouts, which also include optional Strength Training.

It also includes a plan for covering the 315km Vätternrundan route comfortably on race day.

Don't worry if you've missed the 5th of May start date, you can also join the training plan at any time after it has started, and thanks to the Foundations Training Plan system, it will adapt to your fitness however close to the main event you are (though we'd suggest it's best to start as soon as possible).

We've split the training plans into four workloads depending on how much time you have available each week, you can swap between these if you find yourself with more or less time but suggest starting on the one that is closest to your availability in the first week of the training.

Once you've signed up, or if you are already a Foundations Training Plan user, the links to the four Vätternrundan workloads will be in the 'Targeted Training Plans' area of the My Coaching hub on the Team EF Coaching website or in the 'Training Plans' dropdown in the Today's Plan app or site, select the weekly load you would like, then choose to start the plan on May 5th (even if you are starting the training after this date) this makes sure the plan runs up to and includes the Vätternrundan event and will load directly into your training calendar from May 5th.

SBT Gravel Training Plan

The SBT Gravel training plan is eight weeks long and starts on the 12th of June 2023 but you can sign up to Foundations Training Plan whenever you like and get started with some great workouts, which also include optional Strength Training.

It also includes a plan for covering the 142 mile SBT Gravel Black course comfortably on race day.

Don't worry if you've missed the 12th of June start date, you can also join the training plan at any time after it has started, and thanks to the Foundations Training Plan system, it will adapt to your fitness however close to the main event you are (though we'd suggest it's best to start as soon as possible).

Once you've signed up, or if you are already a Foundations Training Plan user, the links to the four Vätternrundan workloads will be in your My Coaching hub on the Team EF Coaching website or in the Training Plans dropdown in the Today's Plan app or site and will load directly into your calendar from June 12th.
